Uncle's notes
For a while now my zealous nephews have been bugging me to provide a milled clasp that would be compatible with their beloved 1450 president bracelet. "Challenge accepted," I said to myself with a proud smirk.
However, when it came time for the execution of the product, there was a glaring oversight by your dear Uncle (I did just turn 50, you know). My first iteration for the 1450 had a different link configuration, meaning the pin was placed in a different spot and the links connected in a different way. The first run had the pins toward the clasp, every subsequent release has them away from it. Not realizing this, I made the clasp according to the first configuration, but the majority of those sold have the more recent configuration. All this to say, when I finished the clasp it was not compatible with the majority of the 1450 bracelets I released! Gasp!
My solution to this quandary is to provide an h-link that will connect the milled clasp to the 2nd/3rd iterations of the 1450 bracelets. For some of you, this fix will not fly. Your attention to detail is extreme, and you are generally an unhappy person living in an imperfect world (teasing). For others, you are more utilitarian in your thinking and you couldn't care less, as long as it is functional. Life is too short to give a rip about such details (my people!).
So, I offer this workaround to my nephews with the hopes that some of you won't mind what I had to do to get there, and just be thrilled that you have a milled clasp to go along with your 1450. In the pictures below you can see the two different configurations. The top bracelet is the first run and does not need the additional link.
