Why We Love It

Rolex may be known to most for their superlative chronometers, tough-as-nails sports watches and iconic chronographs - but to say that's all they do would be missing a large part of their important story.

The Cellini collection best exhibits Rolex's commitment to perfection not only for construction but for style and design that exists beyond the scope of their better-known Professional collection.

The model offered here, a Time model with factory-set diamond indices and bezel, is executed brilliantly in their proprietary 18k Everose gold 39mm case. With classic proportions and traditional elements such as a alpha handset and an applied coronet at 12:00, there is a whole lot to love about the Cellini.

While they have played second-string to steel sports models in recent history, we see the demand for Cellini models increasing dramatically today. As tastes change and trends evolve, we're confident that we'll be seeing an even greater desire for smaller, thinner, more elegant and artistic timepieces in the coming years.

As this occurs, its a safe bet that demand for these under-sung superlative offerings from Rolex will be at the forefront of the shift.

The Cellini Story

Rolex is perhaps best known for their waterproof wristwatch cases, known as the 'Oyster'.

While Oysters dominate the catalog in forms ranging from the simple Air-King to the mighty Daytona and Sea-Dweller lines, Rolex has a long tradition of manufacturing more elegant timepiece collections without the function-forward design language required of Professional line models.

From their Prince collections of the 1920s to the King Midas models of the 1960s, Rolex has always kept one foot firmly planted in the more artistic, avant-garde language of luxury timekeeping.

Since the 1970s, that tradition is carried on in the form of the Cellini Collection, a series of exquisitely designed wristwatches that perfectly round out Rolex's place at the top of the luxury game.
